Shooters Win The Dojo 48 Hour Film Challenge 2006! ( 31/05/06)
After coming Runners-up in last years Challenge with “Betrayal”, Shooters Media fended off over 40 teams to clinch 1 st prize in this years Dojo Film Challenge!
The 5 minute film “Curiosity” – named after the crews given theme – featured some new faces, such as actors Dee Sanders and John Howarth whose comic on-screen chemistry grabbed the award at the Newcastle Arts Centre.
But it was up against some stiff competition, and Team Captain Paul Coppack was shocked to come back to Lancashire with the prize.
“When the judges announced that there was a joint 3 rd place, I thought we had a chance of coming home with that, because there really were some mind blowing films, which I personally thought were better than ours. But when they announced we won, I couldn’t believe it!”
“It was a team effort, we all shared ideas and all mucked in and I have to give a lot of credit to Tim Paley who sorted out most of the pre-production stuff - such as arranging actors and meeting times etc. And I think that’s the secret to competitions like this – Planning.”
The 1st prize is post-production assistance at Digipost which is worth over £1500. It will be used for a Shooters Media presentation which is currently in production.
Shooters Media would like to congratulate the cast and crew for their hard work and thank Dojo Films for a memorable weekend.

Adrenaline Gateway Project ( 26/05/06)
Shooters Media teamed up with the people of Rossendale and created two promotional DVD’s to help convince the judges at The People’s Lottery, that Rossendale is the place for extreme sports!
The People’s Millions - which is part of The Big Lottery Fund, - support projects that could make communities a better place to live by improving their environment. That means buildings, amenities, public and green spaces and the natural environment. Communities across the UK have already benefited from National Lottery funding through the People's Millions.
Rossendale's Local Strategic Partnership is currently undertaking a detailed feasibility study into developing the biggest "adrenaline and extreme" sports facility in England at Lee Mill Quarry
The 'Adrenaline Gateway' project would involve relocating and extending Ski Rossendale, together with new activities such as BMX and mountain bike trails, paragliding, ballooning, and horse riding and fell running. These activities would be supported by new retail and leisure facilities, specialist sports shops, entertainment and hospitality facilities, and an amphitheatre for open air music concerts.
If the proposal gets the go ahead it would help to regenerate the local economy and provide new jobs.

Pin High Golfing ( 26/04/06)
Shooters Media created a short promotion package for local golfing firm Pin High Golfing, as they promoted their latest equipment – The Telescopic Distance Marker Set at the London Golf Show.
Ron Bostock, co founder of PHG says “There is nothing more annoying than turning up to a golf competition or corporate event only to find that there is no ‘Nearest Pin or Longest Drive Markers’ available”
“Pro-shops are constantly having to foot the bill for replacing these items because many are not being returned after use... this is because of their size and bulk... they are commonly left around the golf course and then go missing.”
However, PHG have devised a new product so golfers can now buy their own high quality, long lasting and easy to carry marker sets from the pro shop on arrival.

you are awake for two straight days, apart from a few
hours sleep here and there. Our editor Chris McNulty
was like a machine, he was non-stop editing throughout
the night!”

of the Easter Story. (04/04/04)
Shooters Media provided a live feed and the DVD for
Reach Puppets latest show Sacrifice.
The use of puppetry to convey a message to an audience
has been around for many centuries but in this modern
age Reach has to compete with the many messages and
media we are all bombarded with on a daily basis.
Stuart Aspin of Reach comments “It now seems that
Reach Puppets have established a tradition of putting
together a large production at least once a year and
"Sacrifice" was no exception, many of the
650+ people who attended the event over the three nights
commented that “the hard work and effort put in
by the young people was there for all to see. What an
amazing event"!
